Traumatic experiences can have a profound impact on a child's mental health, leading to long-lasting emotional distress and behavioural challenges. It is crucial for children to receive appropriate support and therapy to help them process and heal from these traumas effectively.
-
Loss can trigger a range of intense emotions. Grieving the absence of someone or something significant can lead to feelings of emptiness and disorientation, impacting daily functioning and overall well-being.
A child struggling with separation may exhibit signs of anxiety, such as crying, clinging behaviour, or physical complaints like stomach aches. These reactions can be distressing for both the child and their caregivers as they navigate this challenging emotional process.
-
Anxiety is a common mental health condition characterised by feelings of worry, fear, and apprehension. It can manifest both physically and emotionally, impacting one's daily life and overall well-being.
-
Bullying is a harmful behaviour where someone intentionally hurts or upsets another person, often repeatedly. It can happen in person, online, or through other means, and can have serious effects on the mental health and well-being of the person being targeted.
-
Self-identity is the core of one's being, shaped by values, beliefs, experiences, and relationships, defining who we are and how we navigate the world around us. It is a unique combination of internal and external factors that contribute to our sense of self and place in society.
-
Selective mutism is a complex anxiety disorder where a person, often a child, consistently does not speak in certain situations or to specific people despite speaking in other situations. This can significantly impact their social interactions and daily functioning.
-
Emotional regulation involves the ability to manage and respond to an emotional experience in a healthy and adaptive way, helping individuals to navigate their emotions effectively and maintain psychological well-being. It includes strategies such as self-soothing, mindfulness, and seeking support from others when needed.
Aggression refers to feelings of anger or hostility that may result in verbal or physical outbursts. These intense emotions can stem from various sources, including frustration, fear, or a sense of powerlessness.

Neurodiversity indicates that human brains vary naturally. People think, learn, sense, and communicate in different ways. Therefore, they should not be considered as deficits to be “fixed”, but accepted as they are, as a normal part of humanity.
Neurodiversity includes Autism, Hyperactivity, Highly Sensitive People, People with Dyslexia, Dyscalculia or Dyspraxia, Tourette Syndrome, OCD as well as neurotypical people.
We need to focus together on variation rather than categorisation.
-
To a great extent, sibling rivalry is a normal and developmentally meaningful dynamic mostly reflecting connection, belonging, security, and identity rather than competition.

My approach
I provide safe and confidential space for children to help access their inner resources. I aim to help them to change perspectives on their challenging life experiences and therefore eliminate suffering related to these. Changes of perspectives later translate into behaviours and attitudes.
